Yakuza Kiwami 2

Playtime: 66.6 Hours

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is another brilliant entry into the Yakuza franchise.

Using the same engine used in Yakuza Kiwami & Yakuza 0, you know you are in for a good time. With a good story, brilliant combat, fun substories that range from Kamurocho to Sotenbori, this game is very similar to the previous games. And that's a good thing.

It's on the shorter side with substories, with 75 in total. The quality varies but they all have that same whackiness that all Yakuza games have.

The minigames varies as well, with the Cabaret Club Grand Prix being my personal favorite. Despite playing 4 Yakuza games, I still don't quite have a hand of Mahjong, but I have gotten used to Shogi. It has 6 gambling variations with Texas Hold 'em being my favorite. My least favorite minigame has to be the Clan Creator. I especially don't like the pay to win aspects for it like getting the DLC for better characters.

In terms of story, while it is my least favorite story out of the four games I have played so far, Yakuza Kiwami 2's story is still very strong. It has a brilliant opening, and is filled with twists and turns. That being said, it can get a bit out of hand, and the newer characters don't have as strong as a presence of the previous games chronologically.

There is also a few chapters of side content, focusing on my favorite character in the franchise, Goro Majima. This short Saga gives a conclusion to a certain character we first meet in Yakuza 0, and is filled with emotional moments.

If you enjoyed Yakuza 0 or Kiwami, you will definitely enjoy this one!
