Medal Of Honor

Playtime: 4.6 Hours

A fun but unpolished experience

So, if you enjoy shooting games like Call of Duty, you'll probably enjoy this game. I do, but there are things in this game I dislike that didn't make this a fun experience.

First of all, let me say the graphics are great. Especially for a 2010 game. The core gameplay is fun and I enjoyed a lot of the missions in this game.

However, the quality of the missions started going downhill after mission 4. The first four missions of this game are spectacular. And are really fun to playthrough.

Mission 5 has such poor level design, it genuinely hurts. The first half is downright awful, and near the end of the mission, I nearly changed my mind because of the firefight section.

It was a really fun firefight, and violin music was playing. I was expecting that this is how these squad members would die, in one last hurrah like it's Halo Reach.

They live. Sadly.

Mission 6 is an on-rails mission, where you attack from your Helicopter. But since its on-rails, you can't move the helicopter, which made for a much more boring experience.

And sadly, the last 3 missions all blend together because they are all so similar to each other in terms of gameplay.

Amazingly, this game doesn't have subtitles. I could only get the basic understanding of what was happening in the story. And none of the nuance. I genuinely couldn't understand what a lot of characters were saying because it was coming from the in-game radio.

I had 2 softlocks occur while playing the game. To get out of both of them, I had to restart the levels. One on Mission 2 & one on Mission 5. This probably was the biggest damper on my enjoyment of the game because I hate having to waste my time. Especially because it wasn't my fault.

All of this combined left a really sour aftertaste, Medal of Honor was not a game I enjoyed, though I hope you do.

But you wouldn't see me recommend this game over better alternatives.
